Vanultra quick release mounts are not compatible with Alu-Cab Gen 3.1 or Gen 3-R because there are no mounting frame rails under the tent. These tents have side frame rails and use a custom bracket system.

Vanultra mounts are not compatible with GFC Platform V2 RTT because there are no front to back frame rails. The optional mounting rails offered by GFC will not work with Vanultra mounts.

In Fall 2021, Tuff Stuff redesigned the mounting rails and hardware kit for the ALPHA model tent. Tents purchased prior to Fall 2021 use a custom M10 T-bolt (shown here) with a 17mm hex head lock nut. The industry standard for Roof Top Tents is M8 hardware. Vanultra quick release mounting brackets are not compatible with the M10 T-bolt. A fit kit is required to replace the T-bolt with standard M8 hardware.
ALPHA tents purchased after Fall 2021, do not require fit kits because they include the standard M8 hardware with nut slider plates.
THE PROBLEM – Roof top tents need to be removed regularly
Roof top tent hardware is time consuming and difficult to remove especially with low profile roof racks. Roof top tents need to be removed to:
- Improve your fuel mileage
- Improve your vehicle handling
- Enable garage parking
- Use automatic car washes
- Drive through access
- Install other roof rack accessories (kayaks, mountain bikes, etc.)
- Prevent tampering of the tent

Took a while to set up but now that it’s on it saves me so much time. Customer service was amazing all questions were answered quickly. This product saves you so much time and is rock solid.
I used to mount my RTT into my Racks slots which required the rack to sit off center. It was very secure but annoyed me that it was off center. Vanultra's product has provided the same secure attachment and now she sits centered!! Woo Hoo. Thanks for the great customer service also. Kevin
Saw the YouTube video, was impressed, went ahead and placed the order. Product appeared well made and solid but after putting my 200 pound tent on a roof top rack, I was definitely concerned.
2000 miles later, lite off road, and driving through 60 mph gusts pulling my truck around by the sail of the roof top tent held only by this product, I am certainly convinced.
I mounted it a few weeks before the trip and probably put around 200 miles on them. Had to tighten them down kind of "a lot". But I think that is just the initial settling. The next 2000 miles had very minor tighten that you would expect. And nothing until the first 750 anyway.
Last test will be to see how well it holds up over time with many mountings and dismounting but I see nothing to lead me to think it won't.

We have an iKamper BDV tent, which at the time had no fit kit for the quick release brackets. Trevor and team were amazing to work with in solving this and developing a fit kit with me. The quick release brackets work great and it's very easy to get the tent on and off the vehicle.
These worked out great on my Raket Roof Rack over my Bronco soft top. This product is a game changer for the Roof Top Tent industry. I am able to take the RTT off and on as I please with ease. Vanultra has been great to work with. Customer service is over the top!! I'll always have these quick release mounts on my overland vehicle!
