About Us

Mission Statement:

Vanultra represents efficiency and reliability by believing that adventures should be fun, and not dreadful.

It’s our mission to solve problems by removing some of the hassles that arise when preparing for an adventure. In the end, we desire to inspire others to explore and seek their own adventures with friends and family.

Our Goal:

Our target customer uses their primary vehicle for driving to work during the week and exploring public lands on the weekend. As a result, the most optimal configuration of their equipment and gear must be able to shift hassle-free from commuter to a recreational tool and back quickly.

As our customers seek more efficient setups and changeovers due to the frequency of their vehicles’ weekly cycle, Vanultra aims to accomplish our customers’ needs by creating product solutions that include improvements in equipment changeover as well as increasing the security and protection of their investments.

Our Core Values:

Innovation

We seek to enhance innovation in the overland market. This requires investing hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in research and development each year while we seek to create solutions to solve genuine customer paint points. Vanultra values being a premium quality, high value brand with an attractive style.

Continuous Improvement

Both of the Vanultra founders have formal training and professional experience in lean manufacturing. As such we aim to eliminate waste in our processes and continually enhance the value of our product offerings. We constantly retain customer feedback and implement updates into our products to better fit the needs of our customers. Furthermore, we regularly connect with our dealers, and inquire how we can help them to be more successful.

Customer Service

As a small organization, we aim to earn the trust of our customers and seek to build long lasting trust-based relationships. We often drop anything in process to respond via phone, chat or email within minutes to solve customer issues or questions. We are always excited being able to engage with customers face-to-face during expos, meet ups and other events so we can further learn and understand how to improve.

Adventure

We highly value the benefits that adventuring has and the added pleasure it adds when sharing it with those we care about. We get it, we regularly feel the need to break away from the office and explore. Life is short, we encourage to live life to the fullest. Don’t wait till it’s too late, make a plan, and then set it to action!

Our Business Model:

Vanultra’s core activities include marketing, design, research, development, sales and distribution of our own branded products. Marketing is a critical piece throughout the maturity of any successful product. Our team is putting our education into application and is actively developing and refining our marketing plans. We use manufacturing partners to produce our products to detailed engineering specifications. We invest heavily in our R&D process and then sell our products here on our website or through our dealer distribution channels. Customer service is managed directly by founders Ana and Trevor, enabling a direct connection with our valued customers. Orders are picked and fulfilled at our office in Buena Vista, CO and are shipped within one to two businesses days. To obtain invaluable feedback, we aim to maintain a relationship with our customers post purchase to ensure that our product offerings add value.

Our Core Competencies:

What is Vanultra good at and what differentiates us from everyone else?

Our team is heavily biased towards engineering, as we are currently a team of five experienced engineers. We thoroughly enjoy challenging ourselves by creatively solving problems for ourselves and our target customers. In our product development process, we identify a problem through our marketing efforts and through our own experience, then collectively brainstorm feasible solutions. After reviewing current product offerings, conducting market research and establishing design goals we jump into CAD software for the conceptual design process. After multiple rounds of iteration, we move into validation and prototyping by 3D printing parts or manufacturing functional prototypes. We partner with previous customers and other overland businesses to validate our product ideas and to gain valuable feedback on improvement opportunities before releasing production units. Rather than avoiding failure, we adopt a cyclical process of planning, doing, acting, and studying – an iterative process focused on rapid experimenting to quickly validate or invalidate a hypothesis. Each experiment yields either success or failure, more importantly controlled failure in which to learn from. This process reduces wasted effort and resources and creates higher quality results.
