NOTE: Please ensure that you are able to maneuver your hand underneath the rack to operate the mounting system. A minimum 3.5" of space is needed below the tent mounting rail. Therefore, this product is NOT COMPATIBLE with Rhino Rack Pioneer platforms, or 4runners, Broncos and other SUV's with low profile roof racks like Sherpa, Prinsu or Gobi roof racks.

THE PROBLEM - Roof top tent hardware is time consuming and difficult to remove

Roof top tents need to be removed regularly to:

  • Improve your fuel mileage
  • Improve your vehicle handling
  • Enable garage parking

  • Prevent tampering of the tent

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it lock?

Yes it can! You can purchase a roof top tent lock or use a standard 1/2″ receiver hitch pin lock for 1-1/4″ Class I & II receiver.

What is included in the kit?

This kit includes 4 roof top tent mounts. They arrive fully assembled but installation steps are required. Spacers are also included (if needed) but will need reassembly to install. Please follow the steps in the instruction manual.

Will it fit my roof top tent?

Check the tent compatibility table and find the model of your roof top tent to learn if any special hardware is required to adapt to your tent.

What is a fit kit?

Fit kits are required for wide crossbars that are between 3.4" and 5" wide. A Fit kit is also needed if you require the "rotating feature" for platform racks. Check out the available fit kits product page.

Will it work with roof rack platforms?

Our mounts are compatible with some roof rack platforms like Front Runner and others when combined with the 1235 Rotation Fit Kit. The washers will allow the mounts to rotate and clear the spacing.

NOTE: They are NOT compatible with the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform because the slots are going front to back instead of side to side.

How can I space my tent up?

Vanultra mounts do NOT add height and will not space your tent up. On that note, these mounts are not designed to clamp to spacers or riser brackets. If you need extra height you could either raise the cross bars or consider alternative mounting solutions.

My rack is not listed? Will it work?

With hundreds of roof and bed racks constantly coming on the market we can’t list them all. Please feel free to reach out if in doubt. Our mounts will fit roof rack height’s between 0.75″ – 2.1″ and width’s between 0.75″ – 3.3″. 

My roof rack is low profile to the vehicle roof, how much clearance is needed?

As a rule of thumb, you will need to be able to fit your arm underneath the cross bar to remove the pins and tighten the knob. Minimum 4" below the tent.

What if it still doesn't fit?

We offer free problem solving advice and quick and easy exchanges. We will do our best to ensure that the product fits correctly the first time, if not, we are happy to exchange it for you. Still concerned? We offer a 30 day return policy.

Is there an option for 6 mounts?

Yes, we offer a kit for 6 mount assemblies for $434. This may be necessary for set ups using a 3rd cross bar to help distribute the weight of the roof top tent. Please contact sales@vanultra.com to purchase.

Do you offer international shipping outside of the USA?

  • 4% cancellation fee for orders cancelled before shipping.
  • 10% restocking fee for unused products in their original packaging, that have been delivered.
  • 20% restocking fee for items that have been open and used.
    Sorry we do not accept returns past 30 days from purchase date but we are available to assist with troubleshooting and problem solving. We will do our best to suggest a solution for you!

Perfect!

Incredible product, first of all. I could not be happier with the fact that I can now remove my rtt from my truck bed and drive around without it weighing the truck down anymore than necessary. Also, your customer service is 2nd to none. Amazing knowledge, super-helpful and the parts came pre-installed with longer bolts I needed for my extra-wide bed rack bars. Much appreciated and will be highly recommending your product to anyone I know that would need them. If only customer service were this amazing in all parts of life. Bought before they posed that it will not work for GOBI racks. WILL NOT BUY FROM VANULTRA AGAIN!!!

I bought this universal system claiming at the time that it would fit universal roof racks. Upon receiving my GOBI rack and trying to install these mounts there was zero clearance to securely bolt these mounts on. I reached out to the vanultra all there recommendation was to cut my $1400 rack to accommodate they mounts. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! They stated we updated out site which now states it will not work for gobi racks after the fact of purchasing before they mentioned this crucial side note. Now I am stuck with these expensive useless mounts. THANKS!!!!!

Our quick release mounts are designed to fit most racks, but compatibility with every rack isn't always possible. It's important to note, and we emphasize, to please ensure that you are able to maneuver your hand underneath the rack to operate the mounting system. We have a 30-day return policy and encourage testing the fit right away. As new tents and racks come into market we are happy to help our customers troubleshoot and brainstorm ways to mount their tents. We mentioned cutting the mesh to share what previous customers have done for Gobi racks. We fully understand that this is not an ideal solution.
Our 30-day return policy is in place to protect our small business against external factors outside of our control. We encourage all customers to test fit products upon receipt so any issues can be resolved quickly. Unfortunately, your return request was more than 90 days after your purchase, so we denied your request.

Excellent mount and customer service

This mount was a breeze to setup and is super solid. Additionally, the rails on my tent were changed by the manufacturer leading to the vanultra kit not to fit. However, they worked with me to get the new dimensions and shipped out new parts the next day for me.

I would definitely buy from them again.

Solid, quick disconnect RTT mounts

If you want a more solid connection than your OEM mounts (typically two 1/4” bolts and a thin metal plate) and one that can be removed easily for tent storage, then this is for you!
